BLaST - Bradford County in Pennsylvania seeks a Supervisor of Special Education (North) to lead autistic support and life skills classrooms, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with district and state requirements.

Qualifications

Master's degree in education or equivalent required.
Full approval in at least one area of special education.
Three years of successful experience in special education.
One year of supervisory experience.
Valid Teaching Certificate and certification as a Special Education supervisor.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage reports, IEPs, and records.

Responsibilities

Develops program recommendations and liaises between the IU and districts.
Ongoing evaluation of Special Education curriculum, procedures, and student progress.
Supervises and coordinates special education classroom programs including ESY.
Compiles and maintains reports, records, IEPs, and other legally required documents.
Interprets objectives of Special Ed services to the Board, staff and public.
Assists in referral evaluations, placements, and re-evaluations of students.
Consults with parents of students enrolled in the program.
Implements procedures for purchasing special education equipment and supplies.
Supervises attendance reports and fiscal data related to funds and tuition.
Observes staff, evaluates professionals and paraprofessionals under supervision.
Keeps informed of legal requirements governing Special Education.
Assists with professional development of teachers.
Adapts school procedures to assist Special Education needs.
Attends events recognizing student achievement and school activities.
Schedules staff assignments and coordinates home instruction as needed.
Establishes conduct standards and assists in discipline as necessary.
Cooperates with colleges/universities regarding teacher training.
Attends interagency meetings when appropriate.
Implements de-escalation techniques and safety care competencies.
Maintains valid state driver's license and ability to drive as required.
