Job summary

New Jersey Department of Education seeks an Education Program Development Specialist 2 (Special Education) to design and deliver curricula, training, and program improvements for districts across the state. This role supports mandated goals and regulatory functions while working independently to monitor and evaluate education programs.

Ideal candidates hold a Master's in Special Education or a related field (or NJ certificate/endorsement in Special Education).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or a related field is required.
• Substitution of NJ certificate/endorsement in Special Education may be used if the degree is not in Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Designs, produces, and delivers Special Education curricula, training, program improvement, and related education services to education agencies.
• Reviews and approves local educational programs and assists districts with development of effective Special Education services.
• Provides technical assistance to school districts to improve programs and services for students with disabilities and leads county-level professional development groups.

Education

Master's degree in Special Education or related field

New Jersey educational certificate or endorsement in Special Education (Teacher of the Handicapped, Learning Disabilities Consultant, School Psychologist, School Social Worker, or related field)
