Qualifications

• Hold a Master's or Advanced Degree with a Postgraduate Professional License.
• Demonstrate proficiency with the special education process.
• Demonstrate success in special education teaching assignments across multiple grade levels, instructional settings, and disability categories.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education support for administration, special education teachers, and general education teachers in assigned schools.
• Coordinate special education programming as directed by the Assistant Superintendent for Support Services.
• Communicate and provide oversight for special education procedures and protocols.
• Serve as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative in special education meetings.
• Ensure Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) compliance in all areas of responsibility.
• Conduct achievement assessment, develop related reports, and attend eligibility meetings.
• Provide staff support for Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
• Provide professional development for school staff, as needed, in assigned areas.
• Collaborate with Support Services staff to address areas of need.
• Abide by State statutes, School Board policies and regulations.
