Job summary

Woodmont Charter School seeks a Special Education Program Specialist to support instructional programs for students with special needs. The role involves coordinating initial IEP assessments, consulting with staff and parents, and providing ongoing student evaluation and data interpretation.

Requirements include Florida ESE certification, strong communication skills, and experience with IEP processes. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Temple Terrace campus, with benefits and a focus

Qualifications

• Florida ESE Certification requirement.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Understanding of school policies and procedures.
• Correct English usage, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
• Technologically proficient and open to using technology in curriculum delivery and student data management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coordination of initial IEP assessments.
• Assist in development of initial IEPs supporting least restrictive environment.
• Review assessment reports and analyze data for eligibility, goals, services, and supports.
• Serve as Admin Designee in initial IEP meetings and facilitate IEP meetings.
• Support staff in operating programs that support least restrictive environment.
• Assist in development of IEP instructional goals/objectives and identify related services.
• Facilitate student placement into special education programs/services.
• Conduct semester random IEP audits and track due dates.
• Inform families and guide parents through the special education process.
• Assist in creating and presenting parent training and informational literature.
