Job summary

Somerton School District is seeking a Teacher - ESS to provide individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities under IDEA requirements. The role involves adapting curriculum and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to implement IEP services.

The position is 9 months with a base salary starting at $43,698 and potential up to $64,395 DOE, offering full benefits and a comprehensive work calendar.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of algebra/ge​ometry, ability to read technical information, and ability to analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
• Experience with IEP development, implementation, and compliance procedures.
• PBIS and behavior intervention plan (BIP) development; collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Adapts instructional activities and assessments to meet diverse learning needs and support access to grade-level curriculum.
• Administers formal and informal assessments to inform instructional decisions and monitor progress.
• Provides direct instruction and supports students with disabilities as outlined in IEPs.
• Collaborates with teachers, families, and teams to implement services and improve student outcomes.
• Maintains required documentation (IEPs, progress data, service logs) for compliance.
