Job summary

Somerton School District is seeking an ESS Instructional Assistant on a part-time basis to support students with special needs in general or self-contained classrooms. This role will assist with implementing instruction and monitoring student behavior while aligning with IEP plans.

The position is non-exempt with a 181-day calendar and 5.8-hour workdays. Salary ranges are $15.15–$16.60 per hour, DOE, recognize up to 5 years of experience, no benefit package, ASRS eligible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Associate degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college preferred.
• One (1) year classroom assistance experience preferred.
• IVP Fingerprint Card required at hiring.
• Proof of MMR Immunization & Hepatitis B Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials to support objectives under supervising teacher.
• Administers tests, homework, and make-up work to support classroom learning.
• Administers first aid and medical assistance as instructed by health care professional.
