Job summary

Denton Independent School District Navo Middle School in Aubrey, Texas is seeking a Special Education Personal Care Attendant to support students with disabilities under teacher supervision. The PCA will provide direct care and assist in implementing each student's IEP, across activities including mobility, feeding, dressing, toileting, communication and classroom participation.

Requirements include a high school diploma and preferably two years' experience with children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with children with disabilities and follow instructions.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively, and to use technology for data entry and Medicaid billings.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ethical and professional decision-making.
• Maintain student confidentiality.
• Record data regarding students.
• Provide direct personal care services and support to assigned students.
• Follow instructions provided by teachers and administrative personnel.
• Attend required trainings and meetings for Special Education.
• Inform PCA Coordinator of concerns and training needs.
• Enter Medicaid billings monthly and perform other assigned duties.
