Job summary

Mattawan Consolidated School is seeking Paraprofessionals for Young Fives to support students in all developmental areas, including academic, behavioral, social, emotional, gross/fine motor, and personal care needs, with supervision and student management duties.

Responsibilities include assisting in lesson delivery, tutoring small groups, maintaining a safe learning environment, coordinating bus logistics, and supporting teachers with behavioral and academic interventions under the Mattawan

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Prior job-related experiences, paid or voluntary, with school-age children are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in arranging the learning environment and displays, keeping them current.
• Help students with assignments, homework, and projects.
• Support classroom rules and procedures with empathy and guidance.
• Read to students and listen to their reading progress.
• Assist teachers with lesson plans and instructions.
• Tutor individuals or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Support students with mobility and access to materials.
• Supervise students in classrooms, on the playground, and during activities.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe learning environment.
• Assist with behavioral plans and monitor student behavior.
• Provide safety and hygiene awareness and discipline in line with policies.
• Coordinate student bus drop-off and pick-up as needed.
