Delta-T Group Detroit, Inc. is seeking Special Education Paraprofessionals for the Westland and Garden City areas for the 2026/2027 school year. Starting pay is $18/hr, depending on qualifications and availability.

The position is an independent contractor (1099) role based in Westland, MI 48185. Responsibilities include assisting students under teacher direction, preparing materials, supporting group activities, and maintaining logs. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience with students with special needs highly preferred.
Must pass state and national background checks.

Responsibilities

Helps prepare, collect and set-up materials for student participation, following teacher direction.
Provides instructional, behavioral, or physical assistance to students individually or in small groups at the direction of the teacher to reinforce and follow up instruction.
Assists with large group activities as drill work, reading aloud, and storytelling.
Maintains daily activity logs for your assigned student(s).
Alerts regular teacher to any problem or special information about the individual student(s).
Serves as the chief source of information for the assigned students to help any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
