Job summary

Delta-T Group Detroit, Inc. in Highland/Huron, MI is seeking Paraprofessionals to support students under teacher direction. Starting pay is $19-$20 per hour for qualified candidates, depending on qualifications, availability, and skill.

Roles include assisting students boarding/exiting buses, supporting instruction in small groups, recording daily activity, and communicating any concerns to the teacher. Position is independent contractor (1099) in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Must be able to pass State and national background checks.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience with working children.

Responsibilities

• Assist students as they board and exit school bus
• Behavioral Issues and some severely disabled.
• Helps prepare, collect and set-up materials for student participation, following teacher direction
• Provides instructional, behavioral, or physical assistance to students individually or in small groups at the direction of the teacher to reinforce and follow up instruction
• Assists with large group activities as drill work, reading aloud, and storytelling
• Maintains daily activity logs for your assigned student(s)
• Alerts regular teacher to any problem or special information about the individual student(s)
• Serves as the chief source of information for the assigned students to help any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher
