Qualifications

• Certified as Highly Qualified by meeting one of the criteria listed in the job description.
• Two years of college (60 credits) or an associate's degree or ETS Parapro passing score are acceptable qualifications.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with district teams are required.

Responsibilities

• Follow and maintain knowledge of district policies and procedures.
• Assist students with physical tasks as directed by the supervisor.
• Support the teacher with methods, materials, and strategies for reinforcing target children and implement plans.
• Assist in communication between home and school as requested by the teacher.
• Participate in ongoing staff development.
• Help plan scheduling and prepare materials to support student learning.
• Communicate regularly with teachers about students' needs and progress.
• Maintain confidentiality of information about the school, teachers, children, and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
