Job summary

New Braunfels Chamber seeks a Classroom Aide to support teachers and students in district classrooms.

You will assist in preparing instructional materials, maintain a neat classroom, manage equipment inventory, and help with records and substitute-teacher orientation.

This role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, confidentiality, and the ability to assist students with disabilities and varied needs throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate required.
• Two years of college coursework (48 hours) or an associate’s degree or equivalent for assisting reading/writing/math readiness.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities as needed, including transfers and positioning.
• Help manage student behavior and intervene in crises when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district records retention schedules.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
