Job summary

Valley View Public School District is seeking a full-time Special Education Program Paraprofessional for the 2026/2027 school year at Wood View Elementary School.

Under supervision of a licensed staff member, the paraprofessional supports students with disabilities across settings, assisting with academics, functional skills, and behavior per IEPs. Collaboration with teachers and use of technology are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum valid Illinois Professional Educator License with stipulations, endorsed for Paraprofessional Educator
• Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent with 30 hours of college coursework
• Ability to establish a supportive relationship with students with disabilities

Responsibilities

• Assists students with academic tasks and functional skills as assigned by teacher
• Supervises students during transitions and activities per IEPs
• Provides academic, functional, and behavioral support under IEP guidance
• Helps with curriculum adaptations and record-keeping
• Collaborates with teachers to coordinate instructional plans
• Uses educational materials and assistive technology as needed
• Attends staff meetings and professional development
