Job summary

Hopkins Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to provide one-on-one and small-group support for special education students, including instructional support, behavior management, and reporting successes to licensed staff.

You will reinforce learning, assist with strategies, supervise students in classrooms and on field trips, observe and document behaviors, communicate with mainstream teachers, and assist with behavior plans and data collection.

Qualifications

• Two years post-secondary education or a passing ParaPro Score.
• One year of experience working with children.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning for individual students or small groups.
• Assist certified staff with strategies based on students' needs.
• Supervise students in classroom, lunchroom, field trips, and bus.
• Observe and document students' academic and social behaviors.
• Communicate with teachers regarding student progress.
• Assist with development and implementation of behavior plans.
