Job summary

Austin Achieve Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and to support the development of academic and social-emotional skills within special education and inclusion settings.

The role involves providing instructional support, supervising scholars, and assisting with documentation of progress and behavior management. This position is in-person, with responsibilities across classrooms and related activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Paraprofessional certificate preferred from State Board of Certification.
• 1-2+ years experience in working with special education scholars preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement the scholar's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
• Assist in preparing and using instructional materials.
• Instruct scholars under the teacher’s direction.
• Assist scholars with learning activities and group instruction.
• Support behavior management and documentation efforts.
• Assist with transportation and accompany scholars on trips as directed.
• Monitor scholar behavior and assist with medical/emergency responses.
• Maintain rapport with staff, scholars, and parents.
