Qualifications

• High school diploma is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Paraprofessional certificate from State Board of Certification preferred.
• 1–2+ years experience working with special education scholars preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement the scholar's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
• Assist teacher in preparing and using instructional materials.
• Instruct scholars and groups under the teacher’s direction.
• Assist scholars with learning activities.
• Provide community-based instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Accompany scholars to mainstream settings such as cafeteria, library, field trips and assemblies.
• Monitor scholar behavior and support behavior management as directed.
