Job summary

Austin Achieve Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Special Education Lifeskills Teacher to provide specialized instruction for scholars with significant needs. You will plan individualized lessons, support functional independence, and collaborate with families and staff to implement each scholar’s IEP with fidelity.

The role emphasizes structured instruction, safety, social-emotional development, and daily living skills to promote access to the curriculum and successful school participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate required, including Special Education certification.
• Experience working with scholars with significant disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Plans and delivers specially designed instruction aligned to each scholar’s IEP.
• Creates a structured, safe classroom environment.
• Implements accommodations and behavior supports per IEP.
• Collaborates with families, service providers, and staff to implement IEPs.
