Job summary

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional at Miller Elementary School. The role supports students with IEPs in a 37.5-hour week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities include health support, behavior and instructional assistance, and data collection under a building administrator. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate the ability to work with families, students, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to work with parents, students and support personnel.
• Good organization skills.
• Self-directed.
• Ability to engage in problem identification and solving.
• Maintain good rapport with staff/parents/students.
• One-on-one paraprofessional experience preferred.
• Experience with health impairments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general and special education staff to support students with IEPs in the least restrictive environment.
• Support students' accommodations and modifications per IEPs under the guidance of the special education teacher.
• Assist with health care, behavior, and instructional programming as needed.
• Maintain and implement data collection systems and behavioral/instructional logs.
• Support established goals and objectives for students.
