Job summary

Archway Programs in New Jersey seeks a Paraprofessional to support classroom teachers, assist with student activities, and help with administrative tasks under supervision. You will aid in implementing educational activities and support emotional, social, and behavioral development for students.

Requires a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree is preferred. Prior experience in a child-centered environment is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Prior experience in a child-centered environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher in monitoring of students’ academic work and behavioral performance.
• Contributes input during parent conferences.
• Performs classroom and school-related clerical duties as needed.
• Maintains accurate records; attendance, behavior modification points, lunch counts.
• Cleans and decorates classroom; designs monthly bulletin boards.
• Assists students during arrival and dismissal from school.
• Supervises students while moving throughout the building and campus.
• Attends staff meetings, in-services and orientations.
• Participates in job coaching when needed.
• Arrives on time and adheres to attendance policies.
• Attends trainings such as Handle with Care and Crisis Prevention Institute.
• Develops an annual Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
• Earns annual CPR/AED certification.
