Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma; some college preferred.
• Ability to motivate and work with students with special needs.
• Ability to follow through on teacher prepared instructions with minimal supervision.
• Completion of Physical Management Training, CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogen and other required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assist the certified teacher with individualized instruction and small-group work; prepare instructional materials and monitor progress.
• Record data and track student progress; support study/organizational skills.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, aides, administrators, specialists and parents; communicate student needs.
• Supervise students during routines and activities; assist with daily living tasks as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships and adapt to changing priorities while supporting classroom operations.
