Job summary

Central Berkshire Regional School District is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to assist classroom and special education teachers with accommodations for students, including those with disabilities, and to support student independence.

You will collaborate with staff, collect progress data, and follow directions from a variety of professionals, demonstrating patience, flexibility, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher and/or special education teacher in implementing accommodations and/or modifications for students requiring such supports.
• Assist general and special education teachers in collecting data on student progress. Collaborate with other staff in implementing behavioral intervention plans, as needed.
• Support student independence through the acquisition of skills and strategies.
• Other duties may be assigned by the building principal or superintendent. Hours will be assigned by the principal.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Experience working with elementary age students desirable.
• First Aid/CPR certification desirable.
• Experience with students with disabilities required.
• Able to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Experience working with students with a variety of learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to follow teacher direction.
• Requires patience and flexibility.
• Ability to interact and take direction from a variety of professionals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
