Job summary

Troup ISD seeks a Special Education Aide at Troup Elementary School to support students with disabilities in inclusive settings. The role involves assisting in instructional and self-help activities and helping make curriculum accessible to students at their learning level.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the principal and the certified teacher, contributing to a supportive learning environment and collaborative classroom routines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Texas Educational Aide Certificate preferred.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.
• Must work well with active children.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience with children preferred.
• Prior experience with personal care preferred.

Job Title: Special Education Aide

Primary Purpose:

Help special education teacher and/or general education teacher by providing inclusion support for physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in general education and/or special education setting.

Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management; and, assist in making curriculum accessible to students at their learning level.

Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work with children with disabilities

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Knowledge of general office equipment

Must work well with active children

Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:
