Job summary

Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a Full‑time Special Education Paraprofessional for River Valley Academy – ALC Program, located in Winona, MN. The position runs full‑time during the 9‑month school year (2026‑2027) with a pay range of $18.50–$28.75 per hour based on experience; a benefits package is available.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with behavioral needs.
• Ability to assist in instructional activities and use technology.
• Strong communication with students, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with teaching duties and organize materials.
• Perform clerical tasks: attendance, records, copies, bulletin boards.
• Adapt activities under teacher direction to reinforce objectives.
• Administer tests and homework support as needed.
• Communicate information with supervising teachers and staff.
• Monitor students to provide a safe learning environment.
• Transport students to and from Work Experience per IEP.
• Manage lunch orders and distribute lunches.
• Supervise boarding/exiting bus and ensure student safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
