Sonoran Science Academy – Phoenix, a STEM public charter school, seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with IEPs in and outside the classroom. Responsibilities include instructional support, tutoring, behavior observation, and assisting staff with crisis management and behavior plans.

Requirements include a current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain, and a high school diploma with one of several options (associate degree or 60 credits, or

Qualifications

• Requires current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain.
• Secondary school diploma or GED required, plus one of the options below.
• Option A: Associate degree or 60+ college credits.
• Option B: Passing ADE-approved assessment (ETS Paraprofessional, ACT Workkeys, or Master Teacher ParaEducator Network).

Responsibilities

• Assist individual students with activities initiated by teachers.
• Provide instructional support for small groups or individuals.
• Provide tutoring or interventions as directed by supervising teacher.
• Assist ESS teacher and admins with observing, recording, and charting behavior.
• Assist with crisis problems and behavior management.
• Carry out instructional programs designed by the teacher.
