Job summary

Mtvernon is seeking a paraprofessional to assist teachers in delivering instructional support and to help students access classroom activities. The role includes supervising students, aiding with testing accommodations under IEP, and assisting with materials and progress tracking.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus at least 36 college hours and a ParaPro certification or equivalent substitute course completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 36 college credit hours.
• Pass the ParaPro Assessment or complete the 20 hour Substitute Certification Course.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and educational tasks under teacher guidance.
• Supervise students during independent work and keep them focused on assignments.
• Lead review sessions and practice activities to reinforce lessons.
• Record answers for students needing testing accommodations under IEP.
• Support classroom behavior plans and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Monitor students during transitions and meal times.
• Assist with personal care routines as needed.
• Help manage progress folders, paperwork, and instructional materials.
• Observe interactions and report any concerns to the teacher.
