Job summary

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a minimum of two years college experience OR successfully completed Parapro Assessment.
• Parapro assessment can be completed with MCPS by appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers in preparing instructional materials/activities to support instruction of students with disabilities.
• Assists in providing accommodations and modifications as written in the student’s IEP.
• Assists students to reinforce material presented; preparing and maintaining files and reports; assisting with data collection.
• Assists teacher(s) in performing duties as assigned or specialized tasks.
• Assists in providing individual and small-group instruction to adapt curriculum to students’ abilities.
• Maintains behavior standards per the teacher’s plan; supports a conducive learning environment.
• Assists with instruction and life skills for students with special needs as needed.
• Cares for the cleanliness of learning spaces; assists with dishes, surfaces, laundry, refilling items.
