Job summary

Fort Zumwalt R-2 School District is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students under a teacher's supervision. The role involves assisting with instruction in a resource or self-contained room and supporting IEP-related activities.

The paraprofessional will help with classroom tasks, communicate with staff and administrators, and assist with daily care for students as needed. This is a 9-month, at-will position in a family-friendly district.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to obtain a substitute teacher certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with instruction in the classroom.
• Monitor classroom during IEP meetings and staffings.
• Assist with grading papers and phone calls as needed.
• Assist with the physical care of students (diaper changes, bathroom, feeding).
• Assist in the lunchroom and at recess as assigned.
