Job summary

Omaha Public Schools King Elementary in Omaha, Nebraska seeks a Paraprofessional - Special Education to support instructional activities and monitor student progress. Work August through May when students are in session, under the supervision of certified staff.

Qualifications include an Associate degree or equivalent, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and strong confidentiality. Position starts August 2026 with a starting rate of $21.99 per hour, 7.0 hours daily, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree, OR completion of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours, OR demonstrated proficiency via competency test.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform various physical activities.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Observe and record behavior; assist with behavior modification techniques by teacher.
• Develop and maintain professional rapport with teacher and staff.
• Assist students at arrival and dismissal.
• Maintain confidentiality in all duties.
• Participate in professional development and trainings.
