Job summary

Omaha Public Schools at Boyd Elementary in Omaha, Nebraska seeks a Paraprofessional for the Special Education ACP. Work August through May when students are in session, starting immediately.

The role provides 7.0 hours per day, Mon-Fri, with pay at $21.99 per hour and terms governed by OPS policy. Responsibilities include supporting teachers, assisting in classroom activities, data collection, and ensuring student safety and confidentiality, with ongoing professional development and teamwork

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, balance, stoop, climb steps and reach overhead.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Commitment to helping all children learn and reinforce learning concepts.
• Regular daily attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist or directly carry out educational activities designed by teacher and support personnel.
• Assist students with toileting needs and diaper changes.
• Carry out self-care programs including feeding, tooth brushing, grooming.
• Assist with loading/unloading students on van/bus.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and arrange a cheerful environment.
• Collect and record data and make teaching materials.
• Carry out structured behavior programs as directed by staff.
• Interact with students as directed and work as part of the educational team.
