Responsibilities

• Uses positive forms of communication with children in the classroom.
• Assists the teacher by observing and supervising classroom activities.
• Provides one-on-one and group instruction as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Demonstrates confidentiality.
• Assembles materials for units.
• Assists with classroom maintenance and sanitizing toys/materials.
• Interacts with children during play to expand vocabulary and social skills.
• Documents objective observation notes for teachers.
• Assists with inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Supports field trips as needed.
• Other duties assigned by the Preschool Principal or classroom teacher.

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:

Classroom Teacher; Building Principal

JOB GOAL:

To assist the teacher in providing education and instruction to the students

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

School year only

EVALUATION:

Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district’s Personnel Evaluation Policy

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (Intellectual, Sensory):

PRESCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

• Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in the state of Nebraska in order to transport students on District special education busses
• Follow through on the expected bus route time schedule for students
• Follow all safety protocols required by the District transportation department
