Job summary

Centennial School District 12 is seeking a Special Education and Instructional Paraprofessional for Blue Heron Elementary School to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher. The role involves implementing individualized education plans, supporting student independence, and maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.

Assignments may change during the school year; paraprofessionals may be reassigned to different students,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Two years of college credits (usually 60 credits) through an accredited institution.
• Associate's degree or higher.
• Passing score on an approved ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of students indoors and outdoors during transitions, lunch, recess, and community activities.
• Reinforcing academic skills with individual students or small groups under supervision.
• Assisting students with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as eating, transferring, mobility, toileting, dressing, and hygiene.
• Facilitating behavioral redirection and interventions per IEPs and district protocols; implementing de-escalation strategies.
• Assisting with IEP implementation and data collection on student goals.
• Collaborating with the case manager, classroom teachers, and related service providers (PT, OT, SLP, School Nurses, etc.).
• Completing Third Party Billing documentation as required.
• Participating in professional development, trainings, and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned; may be reassigned to different students or programs by district administration.
