The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 190 days/year. Salary follows the CAIU schedule: $28,880 with HS diploma or $31,160 with higher qualifications, plus daily rate details, depending on credentials.

Qualifications

• Requires HS Diploma or higher with college credits or an Associate’s degree.
• Alternative qualification: 5 years of classroom support experience.
• Must comply with CAIU policies and FERPA confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Works with the teacher as a team member in the educational and social development of students.
• Assists the teacher in developing and maintaining a positive environment.
• Acts as a positive social and emotional model for students.
• Performs instructional activities and monitors results under the teacher's direction.
• Assists in managing student behavior according to disciplinary policies.
• Performs CPR, First Aid, and child restraint techniques as needed.
• Provides input on student academic progress and needs to the teacher.
• Follows CAIU policies and confidentiality rules (FERPA).
• Assists in meeting personal care needs of students as directed.
• Assists students to and from vehicles and building areas, including lifting.
• Performs clerical and housekeeping duties as required.
• Maintains positive relationships between paraprofessional and teacher.
