Job summary

The Lyon County School District is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support licensed teachers in delivering specialized instruction to students with disabilities, implementing IEPs, and assisting with behavioral and academic skills in various settings.

This 9-month, non-exempt position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. CPR/First Aid and crisis prevention training are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and DMV clearance.
• CPR/First Aid and crisis prevention training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with physical tasks and personal hygiene per IEP.
• Support instructional programs under supervision of a licensed teacher.
• Work with small groups to reinforce learning and behavior supports.
• Document progress and report findings to certified staff.
