Qualifikationen

• Two years of post high school education or higher, or be able to pass a standardized test approved by the state of South Dakota, for designated Education Assistant positions.
• At least one year of work experience requiring interpersonal interaction skills and knowledge of strategies to support students with social, emotional, and behavior needs.

Aufgaben

• Escorts students to transportation and other areas of the building.
• Provides 1:1 and small group support in special education classroom and/or regular classroom.
• Prepares instructional materials and reinforces instructional/behavioral objectives.
• Works with students in schools and on community outings.
• Maintains and prepares student records including charting, attendance, and progress notes.
• Assists with supervision of students during recess, lunchroom, and playground.
• Maintains confidentiality of students and their families.
