Job summary

Knapp Charter Academy, part of National Heritage Academies, seeks a Title I paraprofessional to support students in grades Young5-8 at our Grand Rapids campus. You will assist with instructional and behavioral needs per IEP/504 plans, in 1:1 or small-group settings, helping students grow academically, morally, and socially.

Responsibilities include implementing tailored instruction, attending IEP meetings, and ensuring compliance documentation. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance per IEP/504 plans.
• Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
• Educate the whole student academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement curriculum designed to meet individual needs arising from disabilities.
• Attend professional development and IEP meetings with the team and parents.
