Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a Teacher Associate to support preschool students for 3 hours daily, four days a week. Under supervision, you will assist with learning activities and monitor student progress.

You should have at least 12 ECE credit hours, a CDA, and CPR/first aid, with strong communication and teamwork. The role emphasizes flexibility and a positive relationship with students.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education, a current CDA credential, two years post secondary education or Paraeducator certificate.
• Required to obtain pediatric first aid and CPR.
• Willingness to assume responsibility.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Flexibility in working with classroom teachers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Enjoy working with preschool age children.
• Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students.
• Under the direction of professional staff, work with students individually or in group settings.
• Consistently monitor student's learning and behaviors.
• Be available for any student need including health, toileting, behavior, and self help skills.
• To attend district workshops and trainings in order to continue learning about Early Childhood Education.
• Other duties as assigned.
