Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Aide 3 to support special education classrooms at Sparks Middle School. The role involves assisting teachers with instructional activities, providing individual or small-group student support, and performing attendant services as needed to meet student IEP goals.

Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet HQ requirements, including 48 college hours, an associate degree or higher, or a passing ParaPro score

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent
• Completed at least 48 semester hours of credit at an accredited college or university; or an associate's degree or higher degree from an accredited college or university; or passed the ParaPro Assessment with a score of at least 460.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in a variety of instructional activities.
• Provide attendant services (diapering, toileting, washing faces) as needed.
• Support instruction in functional life skills and health/hygiene habits.
• Record student progress toward goals and assist in developing instructional materials and charts.
• Modify general education curriculum and follow behavior plans as outlined in IEPs.
