Job summary

Waverly Community Schools at Winans Elementary is seeking a Special Education Para Educator to support students with disabilities. The position begins in September 2026 with a salary range of $20.55–$23.22 per hour, per the WESPA Master Agreement, and follows a school-year term.

The role requires instructional support, behavioral management, and collaboration with teachers and families to ensure student safety and participation in school activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma
• Experience working with students, school personnel, and parents
• CPI Certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of PBIS and MTSS

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of behavioral strategies for students
• Support instruction and preparation of materials under supervision of the certified teacher
• Assist with transportation loading/unloading of buses
• Assist with pool activities under WSI supervision and supervise during school day activities
• Maintain attendance and complete record-keeping tasks as appropriate
