Job summary

Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) is seeking a Paraprofessional to support students under the supervision of certified professionals. The role involves assisting with instructional and non-instructional tasks, managing student activities, and helping implement IEPs across AIU school programs.

The position requires a High School diploma with training opportunities provided; 1–2 years of experience with students with special needs is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; PATTAN Paraeducator training provided within 90 days.
• Associate's degree or 60 college credits preferred.
• 1-2 years' experience with children with special needs strongly preferred.
• Training in crisis intervention, CPR and First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists students in daily classroom activities and transitions.
• Supports teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks.
• Assists with supervision of students during routines, field trips, and activities.
• Performs duties in accordance with IEPs and classroom plans.
