Job summary

Davenport Community Schools is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role requires patience, dependable teamwork, and the ability to follow district directives and behavior plans.

Responsibilities include providing social skills instruction, assisting with daily living skills, and supporting students in both special and general education settings.

Qualifications

• Willing to attend any required evening trainings or meetings.
• Able to accept feedback from specialists and implement changes.
• Willing to follow directives from teachers and administration.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse students.
• Demonstrates patience, dependability and teamwork in a school setting.
• Able to support MTSS for behavior and academics.

Responsibilities

• Provide research-based social skills instruction under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Work with students with disabilities, including autism, in various settings.
• Attend field trips with students as needed.
• Assist in daily living skills, behavior interventions, and data collection.
• Accompany students to and from the bus and supervise in classrooms and on site.
• Follow multiple behavior plans and adapt as directed by staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Perform other duties assigned by administration.
