Job summary

The Amherst Regional Public School District is seeking full time Special Education Paraeducators to provide individualized or small group support to Special Education students who are on an IEP.

Beyond providing direct support when needed, this position includes supporting student use of assistive technology, implementing academic lessons under the direction of a special education teacher and service providers, and monitoring for health issues and calling for medical assistance if/when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to Special Education students who are on an IEP.
• Assistive technology support (laptop, adaptive mouse, etc.) for students as needed.
• Implement academic lessons to students under the direction of a special education teacher and service providers.
• Monitor health issues and call for medical assistance when needed.
• Attend related service therapy sessions (OT, PT, SLH, etc.) to facilitate carryover of skills.

It may also include attending related service (OT, PT, SLH, etc) therapy sessions to facilitate carryover of skills from one setting to another.
