Job summary

Amherst Middle School in Amherst, NH is seeking a Specialized Program Paraprofessional to support My Time and Life Skills programs for students with emotional/behavioral disabilities and related needs. The role works with a multidisciplinary team and offers ongoing training to support staff.

The selected candidate will assist in one-on-one and small-group settings, monitor behavior, document data, and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to foster engaging and inclusive learning

Qualifications

Previous experience with school-aged children required.
Ability to work one-on-one and in groups.
High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate degree is preferred.
Excellent communication, organized, reliable, independent and collaborative skills.
Demonstrated commitment to Engage, Support and Challenge All Learners.

Responsibilities

Ability to manage behavior and keep accurate data.
Prioritize functions and manage time wisely.
Address multiple medical needs as needed.
Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, case managers, administrators and family members.
Establish rapport with adults and children through solid communication.
Prior experience preferred but not required.
