Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant II in the Special Education division to support instructional activities, prepare lesson materials, and assist with data collection and progress monitoring in Title I and various SPED programs.

The role requires collaboration with teachers, behavior management support, and the preparation of instructional materials and assessments for students with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of 48 semester or 60 quarter units, in education or related field; or a high school diploma with two years of paraeducator experience.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Paraeducator aide or equivalent.
• Ability to develop instructional materials and assist in data collection and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in classroom and related areas.
• Prepare lesson outlines, plans, and teaching aids.
• Instruct students individually or in groups and monitor progress; refer to the teacher as needed.
• Maintain and organize records, materials, and equipment; support behavior management and student safety.
