Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant II in a Special Education classroom. The role supports teaching staff with individual and group instruction and develops instructional materials in collaboration with teachers.

Responsibilities include data collection, progress monitoring, and assisting in IEP processes while working at a Title I school with emphasis on behavioral support and student engagement.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of 48 semester or 60 quarter units; desirable in child development, education, special education, or related field.
• High school diploma is required.
• Two years of experience as a Paraeducator aide or equivalent experience in student instructional activities or guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in providing classroom instruction and preparing materials.
• Develop and maintain instructional materials and lesson outlines.
• Observe student progress and communicate with teachers and parents.
• Assist in maintaining student discipline and school routines.
