Job summary

Zen Educate is seeking para educators in Columbus, OH to support students with special needs and provide daily substitute coverage for the 2026-2027 school year, with a potential longer-term position if the fit is right.

You will assist licensed teachers with academic adaptations, self-care and social/behavioral support, and help maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment. English proficiency and willingness to assist with personal care are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a high school diploma or GED.
• 6+ months experience supporting people with special needs.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Open to support students with personal care.
• US Work Authorization - cannot sponsor visa or relocation.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed staff in the classroom by helping implement academic adaptations and IEPs.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to support self-care and social/behavioral needs.
• Maintain a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning.
• Provide timely support for students in crisis situations.
• Utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
