Job summary

Lewisburg Elementary School is seeking a paraeducator to assist in special education programs at Lewisburg School. The role focuses on implementing instructional practices, supporting teachers, and maintaining a safe, productive learning environment for students with special needs.

The successful candidate will collaborate with therapists and teachers, participate in IEP-related activities, and contribute to a structured classroom that fosters growth in writing, reading, and math.

Qualifications

• Three years of paid or volunteer experience as an instructional assistant (preferred in writing, reading, and math).
• Must have an Associate of Arts or higher degree, or an 80% or better on the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment (KPA).

Responsibilities

• Aid instructional personnel with writing, reading, and math instruction.
• Tutor individual and small groups to reinforce writing, reading, and math skills.
• Monitor and assist students in instructional writing, reading, and math activities.
• Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement techniques.
• Prepare writing, reading and math materials and learning aids.
• Maintain records and progress for student development.
