Job summary

Mill River Unified Union School District in Clarendon, VT, is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator to provide developmental, academic, and behavioral support under licensed supervision. This one‑point‑0 FTE position begins August 20, 2026, with duties at Clarendon Elementary School and potential movement to other MRUUSD campuses based on need.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree or equivalent, availability to transport students, ability to stand for long periods, and willingness to pass

Qualifications

Ability to interact effectively through both written and verbal interactions with students and co-workers.
Ability to take direction and feedback when provided, as well as to work independently when needed.
Ability to implement a variety of developmental, academic, and behavioral supports under supervision.
Must possess an Associates’ Degree or the equivalent; or pass an academic competency assessment prior to hire.

Responsibilities

Provide direct support to eligible students to meet developmental, academic, and behavioral needs under supervision.
Manage behavioral challenges using positive approaches.
Complete district-mandated trainings and professional development.
Assist with data-collection tasks as assigned by staff.
Complete Medicaid billing as required.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
