Job summary

The Prosper Valley School in Pomfret, Vermont is seeking a Full-Time Special Education Paraeducator to support Grades 5–6 students in developing academic, social, and daily living skills. Join a collaborative, inclusive learning community where every child is valued and supported.

You will work one-on-one and in small groups, assist with instruction and routines, and collaborate with a team of educators and therapists. Training is provided for behavior support and data collection.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Ability to support young learners with empathy, enthusiasm, and consistency.
  • Comfort with basic technology; Google Workspace experience is a plus.

We’re seeking a Full-Time Special Education Paraeducator to join our dynamic Grades 5–6 team. In this role, you’ll support students individually and in small groups as they develop foundational academic, social, and daily living skills. You’ll be part of a vibrant, inclusive learning environment where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise students across school settings and during community-based activities
  • Assist with behavior support plans and data collection (training provided!)
  • Share observations and feedback during team meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Minimum Qualifications
