Job summary

Mount Pleasant Community School District is seeking an Associate/Paraeducator to support teachers and students in the classroom. You will assist with small groups, supervise during transitions, and help implement instructional plans under the teacher's guidance.

This role emphasizes confidentiality, positive behavior support, and the use of technology to enhance learning. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Para Educator certification is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Para Educator Certificate or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of information per FERPA.
• Supervise and assist students in and out of the classroom.
• Implement behavior strategies under the teacher's guidance.
• Perform clerical duties (copying, filing, bulletin boards, grading).
• Assist students in use of computers and technology.
• Support small groups or individuals including IEP/504 students.
• Monitor student progress and communicate with teachers.
• Attend staffing when requested by the teacher/principal/parents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
