Job summary

Chester Academy is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator to collaborate with the special education and classroom teachers to support the whole class, small groups, and individual learning opportunities aligned with IEP goals. You will promote independence and self-advocacy while following the guidance of the assigned case manager to meet state and federal requirements.

The role requires a high school diploma and NH Department of Education Paraeducator Certification, with experience in working

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• NH Paraeducator Certification required.
• Experience working with students preferred.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Good general knowledge desired.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement IEP goals, objectives, and accommodations as assigned by the case manager.
• Collect data as directed by the case manager or related service provider.
• Implement a behavior plan.
• Develop a communication system with staff working with the students.
• Alert the teacher or case manager to any issues or special information about a student.
